Physiologia Plantarum

Physiologia Plantarum is an international journal of SPPS committed to publishing the best full-length original research papers that advance our understanding of the primary physiological, molecular and genetic mechanisms governing plant development, growth and productivity; including plant interactions with biotic and abiotic environment and global change biology. Physiologia Plantarum also publishes Minireviews, Technical Focus papers and Special Issues that focus on recent advances in a selected field.

Physiologia Plantarum ranks as an impressive #23 among the 238 most cited international plant science journals. The impact factor is presently (2022) 6.4 and has been rising through the Societies efforts to develop and promote the journal.

The Journal is edited by Editor-in-Chief Yrjö Helariutta, University of Helsinki, Finland, together with a distinguished international team of Subject Editors and Decision Editors. Editorial office is located in Lund, Sweden, where it was originally established in 1948. Physiologia Plantarum is currently published and distributed in cooperation with Wiley. Matters related to the journal in SPPS are primarily handled by the journal responsible member of the SPPS Council.

In the case of an open access publication not being covered by Plan S transitional deals, corresponding authors who are SPPS members within the Nordic countries can apply for coverage of the APC fees. Please use the open grant call.
